In Sri Lanka, public school is free
for children starting 7 years old.
As early as 5 years old, children of
wealthy families are admitted in paid for private schools.
After two years of private school, these
children are admitted in the public schools, knowing how to read,
write and speak in English, which is essential in Sri Lanka.
In the perpsective of its humanist aims,
Green Hope whishes to offer to the poorest children of the fishing
villages of the South-East, an equality of chances and rights.
